Our Work
At AlquimiaED, we believe that to solve our most persistent educational challenges, we must approach how we improve in a fundamentally different way. Our work combines elements of improvement science, design thinking, and change management to help leaders develop and sustain impactful changes to their systems.
Inquiry and collective learning are at the heart of what we do. We collaborate with organizations to identify their most pernicious problems of practice and to design practical solutions; ultimately, transforming the way they approach improvement.
About Us
Founder and principal consultant Jeremy Cooper has over 20 years of education experience focused on building capacity for systemic change. He holds B.A.s in Political Science and Modern Languages from the University of Rochester, an M.A. in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education from CU Boulder, and certificates in Improvement Coaching, Change Management, and Cognitive Coaching.
Jeremy started his career in public education as an Adult ESL teacher before moving on to co-found a system of charter schools for young adult Multilingual Learners in Colorado and New Mexico. He spent the better part of a decade teaching Language Arts and English Language Development to secondary school and university students in Denver and Puebla, Mexico.
Jeremy currently works for Denver Public Schools where he manages a large-scale networked improvement project aimed at improving outcomes for Long-term Multilingual Learners. Throughout his tenure in the district, Jeremy has held leadership roles within the Teaching and Learning, Multilingual Education, and Innovation and Improvement departments.
